Meeting held 08 February 2001 via Internet using mIRC beginning at

A quorum being present the meeting was called to order by Wayne Duncan

Minutes from the Board Meetings of February 1, 2001 were approved as
written,
with no corrections or additions.

There were no officer, board or standing committee reports.

There were no special orders addressed.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

    Connie reported that USGenNet will be applying for an unlimited license
    for unlimited simultaneous users within the next few months.

    Sue Soden announced that the Donated Resources page is now on-line. She
    also reported that the Meeting and Announcement pages are current. Veda
    Mendoza will maintain these two pages in the future.

    We discussed applying for a Trademark (TM ) or a Service Mark (SM) for
    the name "The USGenWeb Census Project."  Sue Soden provided the URLs
    with information about this process. We discussed the pros and cons of
    this step.

    Sue Soden made the motion: "I make a motion that we file for a Service
    Mark of our name: "The USGenWeb Census Project."  The motion was
    numbered 2001-03. Ellen Horner seconded the motion. The motion carried
    unanimously, with Connie Burkett casting Ron Eason's proxy vote and Sue
    Soden casting Jeri Shangle's proxy vote.

(Ron Eason's proxy by email was given to Connie Burkett on 8 Feb 2001.
"I hereby give my proxy for this meeting to Connie Burkett."

Jeri Shangle assigned her proxy to Sue Soden as recorded in the log of
the meeting at 8:50 CST. )

The meeting was continued until 8 EST / 7 CST on Sunday, February 11, 2001.

The continuation of the meeting was called to order by Wayne Duncan.

    Board members assisted in completing the application for the Service
    Mark for the name "The USGenWeb Census Project."  Sue Soden will
    prepare the pages using the SM, which can be used without the
    registered mark prior to the Federal Government registration.

Next board meeting is Thursday, February 15, 20:00 EST.
