Minutes of the Board of Directors for the USGenWeb Census Project

Meeting held 03 MAY 2001 via Internet using mIRC beginning at 19:51 EST
and ending at 21:11 EST.

Present:

    Ron Eason, Vice President
    Veda Mendoza, Secretary/Treasurer
    Connie Burkett

A quorum being present the meeting was called to order by Wayne Duncan

Connie Burkett has proxy votes for Sue Soden & Ellen Horner

No prior minutes were presented.

There were no officer, board or standing committee reports.

There were no special orders addressed.

OLD BUSINESS:

    Connie Burkett reported that there has been no response to-date from
    Binns Genealogy regarding the VA Tax List.

NEW BUSINESS:

    Ron Eason offered the suggestion that we consider, as a future
    expansion, including Tax Rolls from around the world. Some places have
    tax list but No census records like the US has. He also proposed the
    Soundex be included in the future. There was a brief discussion about
    the possibilities and how this could or would further the goals of the
    project.

    We discussed the offer to relink sent from Tim Stowell, NC USGenWeb
    Project. We began formulating the official response to this offer. The
    proposed response will be sent to all Board Members for input.
