Minutes of the Board of Directors for the USGenWeb Census Project

Meeting held 19 Jun 2001 via Internet using mIRC beginning at 20:39 EDT
and ending at 21:55 EST.

Present:
     Wayne Duncan, President
     Ron Eason, Vice President
     Veda Mendoza, Secretary/Treasurer
     Connie Burkett
     Jeri Shangle
     Sue Soden.

Guests:  April Phillips and Sandy Onbey

A quorum being present the meeting was called to order by Ron Eason as
Wayne Duncan was having problems remaining online.

No Minutes were presented. There were no meetings held 31 May 2001 nor
12 Jun 2001.

There were no officer, board or standing committee reports.

There were no special orders addressed.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

     There was no unfinished business addressed.

NEW BUSINESS:

     A new Home/Index.htm page was presented for consideration to replace
     the current Home/Index.htm page. Each of us attempted to load the page
     and gave feedback.

     Motion 2001-06 was made to use the new page as a replacement to the
     current page being used. The motion passed with 4 yes votes and 1
     abstain.

     A discussion was held in regard to creating a section for Native
     American census transcriptions. These censuses were normally taken
     yearly instead of every 10 years.

     Motion 2001-07 was made to create this section. The motion passed with
     no discenting votes.

     April Phillips discussed the proof reader pages. We all agreed that
     the SCs need to be more involved in making sure that transcribers get
     proofreaders. We will continue to post unproofed transcriptions. Veda
     Mendoza will make a listing of unproofed transcriptions for April
     Phillips after April determines a format that will assist her in
     updating/creating the proofreader pages.
