Minutes of the Board of Directors for the USGenWeb Census Project

Meeting held 07 August 2001 via Internet using mIRC beginning at 20:09 EDT
and ending at 20:55 EDT.

A quorum being set, the meeting was called to order by Wayne Duncan.

Officer, board, or standing committee reports:

Special orders addressed:

Minutes of the 31 July 2001 meeting as sent electronically have been
Received by all present and there being no discussion or corrections are
accepted as submitted.

Old Business:

Wayne had mailed the letter to the USTPO.

Wayne has completed the certificate and letter for Ron Eason and Connie
Burkett and will be sending them via e-mail.

Wayne will send Carol a letter concerning the mail lists.

Ellen will send Wayne a copy of the last draft for the Volunteer
Agreements to be edits for final draft.

Sue said she had been working on the Native American pages.  The work has
been very slow and is still very confusing.  Sue has finally received her
Nara books after three weeks of waiting...Sandy has hers ordered, but not
received them yet. Sue was going to try to have some of the pages up at
the beginning of next week.  Connie has made a template for these pages,
but it will have to be adapted with each new census as the data changes so
frequently.  Sue suggested that even though the Native American records
are open through 1940, we should use the cut-off year of 1930 just like
our other files.  Everyone agreed.  Sue said she would announce when the
Native American pages were uploaded.  Sandy said she was going to send the
volunteers she has so far a note that we/Sue is working on the pages and
the Cherokee pages will be first and would be up soon.

New Business: None presented at this time.
