Minutes of the Board of Directors for the USGenWeb Census Project

Meeting held January 7, 2002 via Internet using mIRC beginning at 8:00 PM
EDT and ending at 9:15 PM EDT.

Present:
    Ellen Horner, Vice President
    Sandy Onbey, Secretary/Treasurer
    Connie Burkett
    Jeri Shangle

A quorum being set, the meeting was called to order by President Pro-tem, Ellen
Horner.

Officer, board, or standing committee reports: None presented

Special orders addressed: None Presented

Minutes of the December 10, 2001 meeting have not yet been prepared and Secretary
Sandy Onbey requested a delay until the next meeting if all agreed. The request was
approved.

Old Business:

There being no old business to discuss at this time we proceeded to new business.

New Business:

LETTER FROM JOY FISHER:
    The letter asks for our permission to include our census data in her new search
    engine for the 1850 census only. She only wants to include the 1850 because
    that's all she has bandwidth for.

    After lengthy discussion, it was decided that Connie would send a reply since Joy
    had the integrity to ask our permission and is only asking to do a search through
    the files, with the files remaining where they are.

    We also had some suggestions on this project that Connie would include in the
    reply that may help make it easier on the researchers.

There being no further business to discuss at this time and since the quorum was lost
and the meeting was adjourned by Sandy Onbey at 9:15 PM EDT to reconvene on January
21, 2002 at 8:00 PM EDT
