Minutes of the Board of Directors for the USGenWeb Census Project

Meeting held February 4th, 2002 via Internet using mIRC beginning at 8:25 PM EDT and
ending at 9:20 PM EDT.

Present:
    Ellen Horner, Vice President
    Sandy Onbey, Secretary/Treasurer
    April Phillips
    Connie Burkett

A quorum being set, the meeting was called to order by President Pro-tem, Ellen
Horner.

Officer, board, or standing committee reports: None

Special orders addressed: None

Minutes of the January 21st, 2002 meeting as sent electronically have been received
by all present and there being no discussion or corrections are approved as sent.

Old Business:

  NEW STATE COORDINATORS -

    Wayne is going to contact the potential new State Coordinators. We had not heard
    anything as yet.

  USTPO:

    No new information has been received as yet that we know of from the USTPO.

New Business:

  DUPLICATE SIGN-UP REQUESTS:

    A discussion was held regarding the multiple sign-up requests being made by Laura
    Roberts lawder0169@cs.com for every county in every state for every year as well
    as for all of the Native American records and also for proofreading. It was
    decided to reply to her just as we would any other potential transcriber and
    suggest that she narrow her selection down as well as explain that she must
    obtain the resources for these records. Connie will write a note on the
    Cens_assist list to all the other SCs to alert them to what we are doing and
    request that they notify us via the list if a reply is received. Connie and Sue
    can also monitor the assignments for multiple assignment sign-ups.

The meeting was adjourned by Ellen Horner at 9:20PM to reconvene on February 18th,
2002 at 8:00 PM EDT
