Minutes of the Board of Directors for the USGenWeb Census Project Meeting held March 3, 2003 via Internet using mIRC beginning at 9:06 PM EDT and ending at 9:43 PM EDT. Present: Wayne Duncan Ellen Horner April Phillips Connie Burkett Sandy Onbey A quorum being set, the meeting was called to order by Wayne Duncan. Officer, board, or standing committee reports: None Special orders addressed: None Minutes of the February 3, 2003 meeting as sent electronically have been received by all present and there being no discussion or corrections are accepted as sent. Old Business: DOMAIN FEES: All fees will be paid this week. (It was agreed last month that receipts be sent to Sandy for posting...See below) WEBSITE FILES AND TRAFFIC: Connie stated that we are approaching the 1.8 Gigabytes of .txt files. It was also noted that we are getting a lot of traffic and many are linking to our site because of the ease in navigation of our pages and that we answer our e-mails. USPTO: Wayne stated that the USPTO office has acknowledged receiving our letter. He is also trying to arrange his schedule to make a trip into DC during the week of March 10th. Hopefully to speed things up in this process. Further discussion tabled until the April meeting and hopefully good news by then. ELECTIONS: The process was discussed and Sandy will begin by gathering a list of qualified voters and sending it to Wayne for verification and the assigning and issuance of random ID numbers for voting. Wayne will announce a period for nominations to begin on April 1st and will run for two weeks. He said that he had the webpage from last year stored on his computer and could modify it easily for this year. After the nominations, we can have a two-week campaign period and open the election in the first week of May until May 15th. Following this would be an announcement of the winners and an invitation to attend the June meeting for orientation and then installation at the July meeting. CONVERSION SOFTWARE: It was decided to table this discussion until Sue Soden could attend the meeting as this was her topic and we are not familiar with it New Business: There was no new business to discuss at this time.
