There is no indication that Lines 15 through 40 apply to Croyle Township until (Written page 302) Stamped page 268. The division name on this page is listed as Carroll Township. I feel it was listed in error and should have been listed as Chest Township for the following reason. James Murray enumerated Carroll and Chest Townships. Carroll Twp ended on stamped page 144 line 8. Chest Township starts on stamped page 145 line 1 with dwelling and family numbers running in sequence through stamped page 160. The only difference noted is on stamped page 146 where he indicated the Division to be Carroll Township which was the Division he had compeleted previous to Chest Township. Page 149, lines 6 through 13. The Census Index shows the last name as Ashcraft. The enumerator has spelled the name 2 different ways: on line 6 he wrote Ashcralf and on line 7 he wrote Ashraft. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
