If you are installing CART for the first time, you need to download the FULL version, then download the update and install the update on top of the full. The full version can be downloaded and installed easiest using Install Option (A). If for some reason, you cannot download the one file version, you still must do a full install but can use Install Option (C). Option (C) is more complex, but is broken into four files of a smaller size and can be used to create a set of diskettes. After installing the full version using either Option (A) or Option (C), install the update using install Option (B).

If you have installed CART previously, and only want to update your current installation, use Install Option (B). Install Option (B) is designed to be installed over the top of your existing CART directory (usually C:\CART), and is quite a bit smaller than the full install.

Install Option (A):

1. Click to download: cart101a.exe. This file is 5,120,927 bytes, so it will take a while to download. (Approximately 35-55 minutes at 33.6 bps).
2. Once downloaded, execute cart101a.exe and follow the directions. (Install directory defaults to c:\cart)

NOTE: With some browsers a right-click and save-as option has to be used rather than just clicking on the link.

Install Option (B):

1. Click to download: caru101b.exe. This file is 247,678 bytes, so it will take only a small amount of time to download. (Approximately 2-4 minutes at 33.6 bps).
2. Download caru101b.exe and execute, unzipping into the current CART run time directory. (the suggested directory was c:\cart)

NOTE: With some browsers a right-click and save-as option has to be used rather than just clicking on the link.

Install Option (C):

1. There are four files for the diskette version of CART. Each executable file creates one diskette. You will need four blank diskettes in order to make the full installation set.
2. Click to download: c101ad1.exe. This file is 1,472,017 bytes, so it will take a few minutes to download. (Approximately 9-15 minutes at 33.6 bps).

NOTE: With some browsers a right-click and save-as option has to be used rather than just clicking on the link.
3. Once downloaded, execute c101ad1.exe and click the unzip button. Unzip to your floppy disk drive and label as CART disk #1. (Install directory defaults to a:\)
4. Click to download: c101ad2.exe. This file is 1,480,273 bytes, so it will take a few minutes to download. (Approximately 9-15 minutes at 33.6 bps).
5. Once downloaded, execute c101ad2.exe and click the unzip button. Unzip to your floppy disk drive and label as CART disk #2. (Install directory defaults to a:\)
6. Click to download: c101ad3.exe. This file is 1,480,273 bytes, so it will take a few minutes to download. (Approximately 9-15 minutes at 33.6 bps).
7. Once downloaded, execute c101ad3.exe and click the unzip button. Unzip to your floppy disk drive and label as CART disk #3. (Install directory defaults to a:\)
8. Click to download: c101ad4.exe. This file is 770,939 bytes, so it will take a few minutes to download. (Approximately 5-10 minutes at 33.6 bps).
9. Once downloaded, execute c101ad4.exe and click the unzip button. Unzip to your floppy disk drive and label as CART disk #4. (Install directory defaults to a:\)
10. After all four floppy disks have been made, insert disk #1 and run a:\cart101a.exe. You will then be prompted to insert each of the other disks and the CART installation will begin.

CART Utilities

The LowerCase utility is for Windows 95©/98© or Windows NT© only. It has the simple purpose of renaming all files in a directory to lower case filenames.

1. Click to download: lc10.zip. This file is 4,816 bytes, so it will take only a small amount of time to download. (Probably less than 1 minute at 33.6 bps).
2. After download, use winzip or pkunzip to unzip it to it's own directory.
3. Then run it by clicking on it in explorer or by creating an icon which points to it.
