Section 2: Answers

  1. Q: I downloaded CART some time ago. Is a newer version available?

A: The current version of CART is always available from the download page. If you find a bug, or you think you may have found a bug, go to the download page and check to see if a newer version is available. Once the full verion is installed, you only have to download the smaller "Patch" to bring it up to date. Also, when a patch is made available, it will be announced on the mailing list.

  2. Q: I went to the download page and it says what version is available. How do I know what version I am using?

A: From the CART main screen (the one with the CART logo on it), click the Help pull-down menu and choose About. In the lower right-hand corner of the About screen it will say what version you currently have installed.

  3. Q: When I try to install CART it says there is a problem with another application running or a DLL conflict, but the install is the only thing running.

A: When someone gets a DLL conflict or the message about an application running during the install, I suggest trying the install in 'safe mode'. Press the F8 when it says 'Windows 95/98 Starting' (while the machine is first booting up), then choosing the Safe Mode option from the menu. Then, install CART, reboot, and let it come up normal.
